Prevention
The best prevention is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, the CDC always recommends everyday actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

  • Stay at home if you have flu or cold symptoms: – fever, chills, body aches or cough.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw away the tissue and wash your hands.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects (like door knobs and countertops) using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Coronavirus Treatment
There is currently a vaccine or treatment for COVID-19. If symptoms feel worse than a common cold, contact your doctor. We may prescribe pain or fever medication.

As with a cold or the flu, drink fluids and get plenty of rest. If you are having trouble breathing, seek immediate medical care.

If you have a high fever, exposure that you know of, or you are a medical worker that could have been exposed, you should be tested at your local hospital. Currently we do not have testing here at our office

When possible, avoid contact with others when you are sick. If you have COVID-19, wear a facemask to prevent spreading the virus to others.
